This portrait was a great exercise in mixing skin tones, especially with the character-filled face of the subject. I loved capturing the rosy cheeks, the texture of his beard, and the depth in his expression—each detail adding personality to the painting. His look had so much character, and it was exciting to bring those qualities to life with paint.
